SQL Server VM
Azure VM SQL Server pricing is an add on to the actual price of running VM. SQL VMs come in three versions Web, Standard and Enterprise.

VMs
There are three different seriese of VMs on Azure A, D and G. Each seriese has Basic and Standard Configuration. Biasic configuration is cheaper and used for Development and Testing. Standard configuration is production worthy VMs. G-Seriese VMs are more capable and more expensive. You can always use Azure pricing calculator to figure out final price of your VM.
